Swedish furniture chain, IKEA has opened a showroom in the Bulgarian coastal city of Varna.
The showroom will employ 20 people and will allow customers to view IKEA goods in person and order them from its store in the capital Sofia. The company says orders will arrive within five days.
The showroom is part of the company’s strategy to widen customer access to IKEA products in Bulgaria, without having to open up its notoriously large stores.
There are also plans to open similar showrooms in other Bulgarian cities such as Plovdiv, Burgas and Stara Zagora.
The company also recently launched online shopping in Bulgaria.
Similar showroom plans exist for the company in Greece, Norway, Spain and Finland.
The Swedish firm opened its only store in Bulgaria in the Autumn of 2011. It currently employs 350 people.
