Leaders of Croatia’s HDZ party, its coalition partners, and MOST began the resumption of talks to form a coalition today.
HDZ President Tomislav Karamarko, said he would set out his ideas for a large cut in state departments and institutions. Currently there are over 200, a number which he believes is more than what the country needs.
MOST is reportedly looking at departments such as; justice, agriculture and among others, environmental protection.
Talks have been ongoing since elections were held in the country late last year. Former Chief Financial Officer of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, Tihomir Oreskovic had been named as the coalition’s new Prime Minister last month.
In the November elections, Social Democratic Party (SDP), lost their position as the country’s largest party to the Croatian Democratic Union, (HDZ).
