A 110 acre indoor water park could be built beside Hungary’s Lake Balaton in the Transdunuian region in the west of the country.
Reports suggest that the park could cost approximately 600 billion forint (€1.92 billion), and will take up to three years to complete.
The name of the park if it goes ahead will be ‘Aqua Regnum Hungary’. It will be 1.7 km in length and 500-900 metres wide.
The park was initially planned 10 years ago but investors could not commit to the ambitious project which would require four million annual visitors just to break even.
Many details of the project will need to be fine tuned before it gets the go ahead, including approval from the mayor of nearby town, Balatonalmádi.
