Estonian Unemployment Down 29% in One Year

Unemployment statistics just released by Eurostat, show Estonia’s have dropped impressively over the last 12 months.
In September of 2014, the country’s unemployment level stood at 8%. In September of this year, it has fallen to 5.7%, representing a reduction of nearly 29% over the 12 months.
Bulgaria and Slovakia have also shown an impressive drop in the unemployment figures. In Bulgaria, unemployment dropped to 20.7%, from 23% last year, and in Slovakia, the number dropped from 12.9% in September 2014 to 11% this year.
Overall, the European Union unemployment figures, whilst still very high, are positive. Over the past year, unemployment has dropped into single figures to 9.4%. In September of 2014 it stood at 11.3%.
A number of countries, including Romania, saw a slight increase in the unemployment rate, from 6.7% to 6.8%.
