Ukraine’s government has made moves to ban imports from Russian companies, who work with other companies operating in the Dombass region.
The Ukrainian Security Service announced last week that 243 companies would receive the ban.
The Dombass region of Ukraine is still under Russian separatist control, following the war in the region that took place after the annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014.
Last year, Ukraine imposed sanctions on 388 individuals and 105 legal entities. Most of the individuals were indeed Russian and included politicians, CEOs and journalists.
The Ukrainian Security Service did not name the companies who have had bans imposed last week. However, they added that they believed that Ukrainian import substitution will be more than capable of replacing the lost imports.
