Poland Represent 35% of Largest CEE Companies

According to the 2014 edition of the Coface CEE Top 500 ranking, 176 of the largest CEE companies are Polish. 

The report, which ranks companies in terms of turnover from Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria are released every year.

Second on the list is Hungary with 73 companies, with Czech Republic holding 65 and Romania with 59.

The largest company on the list is Polish Oil Company, PKN Orlen with a turnover of €25 billion in 2014.

It is the sixth edition of the report, which also looks at number of employees in the company in conjunction with comparative data from the previous two years.

The report points out that 4.2% of the total labour force of the region covered is employed by the top 500 companies. The number of staff employed by the region’s top 500 companies increased by 1.7% compared to the previous years data.

Revenues by the top 500 companies increased by 2.1% to €572 billion for 2015 compared to the previous year.
